Sue’s Produce Market began in 1976 when James’s great aunt started selling fresh-cut fruit salad from a small cart in Rittenhouse Square. Her business quickly grew, and soon after, she opened a storefront in Rittenhouse Square.

In 2012, James took over the Rittenhouse shop and continued the family tradition. By 2018, he expanded with Sue’s Market in Society Hill Towers, carrying on the same commitment to freshness and community that has made Sue’s a Philadelphia favorite.
